General Approaches

  • Make personal contact with all relevant governmental organizations and specific staff who has responsibilities related to solar energy in Civano II and III.
  • Network with other individuals and organizations advocating for energy conservation.
  • Seek input from members of Civano Neighbors regarding their specific interests and concerns about water conservation.
  • Develop user-friendly instructions for irrigation timers and solar water heater maintenance.
  • Track all relevant planning, funding, and decision-making processes affecting trails and park issues for consideration by the Civano Neighbor Leadership Team.
  • Work with relevant planning officials in providing specific advice and recommendations from Civano Neighbors in the area of recycling and energy conservation issues.
  • Work with builders, real estate agents (agencies) as well as prospective home buyers to educate them on the topic of energy conserving building options (solar water, Photovoltaic, alternative building materials, heat pumps, Arizona State tax energy credits). We would do so via personal contacts as well as through a written communication (Website).
  • Our group is open to all parties interested in promoting wise management of resources. We will seek input from all parties in our neighborhood as to the specific ideas and concerns related to environmental aspects of Civano (e.g., reclaimed water or alternative means of water conservation).
  • Work towards establishing a system of recycling under which builders make unused building material available.
  • Work together with other Civano Neighborhood working groups in areas that overlap.

Action Plan

To be developed at organizational meeting of Working Group.
